PANORA — The Panorama baseball team more than doubled their 2018 victory total with a 15-14 record this season, a mark that includes a 13-9 clip in WCAC play, a dramatic improvement from 7-16 and 5-13.

Several players helped make the jump possible, and now the leaders have been rewarded with inclusion on both All-District and All-WCAC teams.

Statistics used for inclusion on the lists vary, as All-District honors included numbers from all games a player participated in, while All-WCAC teams consider only conference action.

Sophomore Drew Taylor was chosen for the Class 2A West All-District First Team at a utility spot. Taylor sparkled at the plate, hitting .457 and slugging .795 with an on-base clip of .545. He had 43 hits, including five doubles, seven triples and three home runs, and drove in 33 runs while scoring 31 times. In 112 trips to the plate, he struck out just twice.

Taylor threw 53-2/3 innings, finishing 5-1 with one save. He struck out 84, walked 22, allowed opponents to hit just .174 and had an ERA of 1.83.

Sophomore Eric Taylor was an All-District Second Team pick at catcher. He had 41 hits and 18 RBIs while scoring 33 runs. Taylor hit 10 doubles, six triples and one home run, batted .461 with a .742 slugging percentage and reached base at a rate of .574. He was retired on strikes one time — once — in 115 plate appearances.

Also named to the Second Team was freshman Brice Taylor. The outfield choice had 29 hits, which included six doubles and two homers. He scored 26 runs, drove home 21, and had a .354 average.

Drew and Evan were utility and catcher First Team All-WCAC choices as well. The former hit .429 with 30 hits (three each for two, three and four bases), had 25 RBIs and 24 runs. His three dingers led the WCAC and he was 10-of-12 stealing bases. On the mound he had a 1.96 ERA, fanned 55, walked just 17 and had one save and a 4-1 won-loss mark.

The latter was third in the WCAC with a .487 average, was second with four triples and tied for second with 32 hits. He had eight doubles, one home run, 22 runs and 16 RBIs while slugging .761 and stealing 9-of-10 bases.

Brice Taylor was a Second Team All-WCAC outfield pick. He batted .365 with five doubles and a home run among his 23 hits. The freshman scored 20 runs and had 16 RBIs.

Named to the Honorable Mention lists were senior Koltin Sloss and sophomore Dominic Walker.

Sloss had 17 singles and three doubles while finishing with 13 RBIs and 12 runs while Walker had five doubles and 15 singles, 12 RBIs and 14 runs. Sloss hit .317 and Walker .299.

The Panthers are coached by Brian Bahrenfuss.
