The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of Dallas County until 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Thunderstorms will become increasingly likely through Tuesday afternoon and into the evening hours, with chances diminishing over night.
Some of the storms might be severe during the late afternoon and evening. Large hail, damaging wind, locally heavy rain and a few tornadoes are all possible.
The severe thunderstorm watch includes Dallas County and the following 57 Iowa counties: Adair, Adams, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Buena Vista, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Cerro Gordo, Cherokee, Clarke, Clay, Crawford, Dickinson, Emmet, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Humboldt, Ida, Jasper, Kossuth, Lucas, Lyon, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pocahontas, Polk, Pottawattamie, Sac, Shelby, Sioux, Story, Tama, Union, Warren, Webster, Winnebago, Woodbury, Worth and Wright.
