The Showtime Dance and Tumbling Studio staged its 32nd annual spring recital Saturday with a set of 21 weather-related numbers under the umbrella title, “Weather to Dance.”

Longtime Showtime owner and operator Carlene Mehls Coleman directed about 125 dancers and tumblers through sun and showers ranging from the playschooler’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and the preschoolers’ “Itsy Bitsy Spider” to the Pointe class’ “Waltz of the Snowflakes.”

almost 40 acts of “One Hit Wonders,” including performances of hip hop, pom and tumbling.

Fourteen-year Showtime students in the 2019 spotlight included Perry High School seniors Delaney Eiteman and Savanna Skye Benton, who each danced a solo and a duet.

The fifth and sixth graders performed to the B*Witched song, “Blame It on the Weatherman,” with lyrics:

It’s just one more day.
No one said
There would be rain again.
Won’t blame it on myself.
I’ll blame it on the weatherman.

Get away for a while.
Here I am out on my own again.
Won’t blame it on myself.
I’ll blame it on the weatherman.

Standing on the shore,
Calling out your name,
I was here before
I could see your face.
Only clouds will see
Tears are in my eyes,
Empty like my heart.
Why did you say goodbye?

The rain goes on (on and on again).
The rain goes on (on and on again).
Alone I can hear,
Hear our song
Playing for me again.
Won’t blame it on myself.
Just blame it on the weatherman.
