Dallas County Sheriff’s deputies and the Perry Police responded Thursday afternoon about 4:45 p.m. to the scene of a one-vehicle accident on Park Street about one mile west of U.S. Highway 169.

A vehicle was found lying on its top in the north ditch in the 21000 block of 130th Street with no driver to be found. Investigators surmised the driver and any passengers walked westward from the scene along 130th Street.

Sheriff’s deputies at the scene would not release the name of the registered owner of the vehicle pending investigation, but the Dallas County Sheriff’s office on Friday morning said the driver was Dalton Humpal, 16, of Perry.

Humpal lost control of his vehicle, the statement said. No injuries were reported, and damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

Humpal was cited for failure to maintain control and no insurance.
