PANORA — Panorama entered the 2020-2021 season ranked sixth in the Class 3A preseason poll, with IKM-Manning 10th in Class 2A.

After Saturday, IKM-Manning is now 0-3 and Panorama 3-0, thanks in part to a 64-58 win for the Panthers over the visiting Wolves. The victory followed a 56-22 win over visiting Woodward-Granger Friday.

The Panthers held leads of 20-13 and of 41-37 after each of the first two quarters of play Saturday afternoon, but the Wolves rallied to move in front, 49-46, as the fourth quarter began.

The hosts slowly chipped away, and, thanks in part to outstanding free throw shooting down the stretch, were able to regain the lead and then pull away for the win. The Panthers, who tied the game at 55-all halfway through the period, were a combined 16-of-20 at the stripe in the second half, with Payton Beckman (7-of-8) and Angel Poldberg (5-of-6) particularly sharp after the break. The team was 28-of-37 overall at the line, with IKM-Manning 13-of-18.

Beckman finished with 23 points and Poldberg with 17. Laci Rishel had 10 points, with Shey Storesund and Ella Waddle tallying five points apiece and Tyme Boettcher four.

Statistical information from IKM-Manning was not available.

Panorama roared to a 23-0 lead Friday en route to a 30-8 halftime bulge over W-G. The margin grew top 41-12 as the final eight minutes began.

Rishel had 14 points, Waddle 10 and Beckman nine. Poldberg provided eight points, Storesund, Grace Webner and Jaidyn Sellers four each and Boettcher three.

Rishel sank three 3-point shots and Waddle two, with Boettcher grabbing seven rebounds while Rishel had three assists and three steals and Waddle six thefts.

Darby Nixon had eight points and Ava Petersen five for W-G. Faith Keuhl had three points, with Libby Grell, Grace Deputy, and Rian Jamison having two points apiece. Nixon sank a pair of triples and Keuhl one.

Panorama will entertain Pleasantville Monday before visiting Madrid Friday. Both are WCAC boys/girls sets.
