Joining in Thursday morning's ribbon cutting at Snap Fitness in Perry were, from left, Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson and Chamber members Macinzie McFarland, Emily Leslie, Joelle Miner, Randy Loomis, Matt Rohe, Abraham Cardenas, Diane Vallejo, Linda Schumacher, Snap Fitness Co-Owner Cheri Welch, Eileen Splendore, Matt McDevitt, Jack Butler, Barb Welch, Sven Peterson, Kathy Hoskinson and Lee Coons.

The recently relocated Snap Fitness welcomed a large contingent of Perry Chamber of Commerce members Thursday morning for tours of the new workout rooms at 509 First Ave. prior to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m.

Perry’s 24-hour workout center opened Feb. 1 in its new location, and co-owner Cherie Welch of Perry said members have responded enthusiastically to the new arrangements.

“We had a great February,” Welch said Thursday.

Welch and her husband, Shaun Welch, operated Snap Fitness in the East Perry Plaza from 2009 until their move last month to the Iowa Highway 144 corridor.

The new Snap Fitness includes a 800-square-foot Fitness on Demand room, with a large-screen computer monitor and more than 200 different workouts.

“We have plenty of room in there for nice size classes and all the new spin bikes,” Welch said.

The Perry gym has about 300 members, she said, and membership rates have not changed with the new location. For more information, call Snap Fitness at 515-465-2848.
