Visiting South Hamilton won both ends of a HOIAC twin bill Monday, completing season sweeps of Perry for the Hawk boys and girls.

South Hamilton (10-3, 6-2) was a 51-40 winner over Perry (5-8, 2-6) in the girls outing, with the Hawks (3-9, 3-5) besting the Bluejays (0-11, 0-8), 54-32, in the boys contest. The Hawks were 62-39 winners early in the season in the girls outing and 68-45 victors in the boys tilt.

The guests used a strong second quarter to open a 24-13 lead in the first game. A 13-8 scoring edge by the Hawks opened a 37-21 gap entering the final quarter and the Jayettes simply could not catch up.

Jayna Kenney led Perry with 16 points, including hitting a 3-pointer and 5-of-6 at the foul line. Lydia Olejniczak added 11 points, Callie Steva five points and Maci Tunink and Kathryn West four points apiece.

Kenney had seven rebounds and Olejniczak six, with Steva making three steals.

Hallee Fecker led South Hamilton 14 points, with Makena Galetich scoring 10 of her 12 points in the first half, during which she sank all eight of her free throws.

The Bluejays were within striking distance at halftime of their game, trailing only 21-16 at the break. The Hawks opened a 36-26 edge as the fourth quarter began, then put the game away with an 18-6 scoring bulge over the final eight minutes.

Zander Mahler led the Jays with eight points while Drake Levan provided seven. Matthew Booker scored six points and Caden Steva four (on 4-of-4 free throws), with Kaelen Davis adding three points and Geren Kenney and Owen Myers two each.

Mahler, Levan, Booker and Davis each hit one 3-points shot for the hosts.

Landon Startredt had 17 points and Ryland Ubben 16 to pace the visitors.

Both Perry teams are at West Marshall tonight, with neither Perry unit playing Friday. The Bluejays will host Woodward Academy Thursday and West Central Valley Monday. Both the Jayettes and Bluejays will host Roland-Story Jan. 25 and PCM Jan. 28.
