Broom Badgers operated by West Des Moines-based Speck USA whisked Perry’s gutters and vacuumed out Perry’s storm water intakes Saturday as tidying up continued after the devastating derecho wind storm of Aug. 10
The street sweeping was planned for early in the week, but mechanical troubles with the Broom Badgers delayed the task until Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Perry residents were asked to remove their parked vehicles from the city streets so that the streets could be cleaned.
The sounds of chain saws and wood chippers were still heard around Perry Saturday as the clearing continues.
