Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day, but the students of St. Patrick School in Perry got a jump on the Feast of St. Patrick by holding a service day for cleaning projects.
Along with cleaning large areas of the church and school, including the kitchen, gymnasium and classrooms, some students also took their spirit of service to downtown Perry, working at Ben’s Fve and Dime, the Freedom for Youth center, the Perry Public Library and the DMACC Perry VanKirk Career Academy.
“The kids are very enthusiastic about their service projects,” said St. Patrick School Secretary Linda Wuebker. “Their hands are small, but their hearts are very big.”
The service day ran from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and included a prayer service for Saint Patrick.
