Not just a boys sport: So many girls competed at the Duane Harney Invite last season that organizers have created a new girls division for Sunday's edition of the popular annual event.

WOODWARD — The annual Duane Harney Youth Wrestling Tournament will be held Sunday at Woodward-Granger, and spots still remain open for the popular event.

A new addition this year is a girls PK-2 division. If enough older girls sign up, additional girls divisions will be created. There will be no 7-8 division this year.

Weigh-ins for PK-2, both boys and girls, will be held from 7-8:30 a.m. with wrestling to begin at 9:30 a.m. The boys 3-4 and boys 5-6 weigh-ins will be from 9-10:30 a.m. with wrestling starting at 11:30 a.m.

Online, walk-in and mail-in registration fees are $20, with call-in registrations $25. There are no refunds. The tourney will be capped at 220 registrants.

Four-person brackets will be created, and organizers will try to separate wrestlers by experience and skill level.

Registrations will be accepted until 10 p.m. Saturday.
