A fire alarm triggered the fire-suppression sprinklers at a Perry apartment house Monday afternoon, flooding several units and leaving at least three families without suitable dwellings.
There was no fire, and no injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred about 4:15 p.m. at the Railroad Valley Apartments at 2902 Iowa St.
The American Red Cross was contacted in order to locate emergency housing for the displaced families.
The Perry Police Department, Perry Volunteer Fire Department and Perry Water Department responded to the emergency.
