St. Patrick School hosted the fall open house Thursday evening, with arts and crafts to entertain the costumed kids.
Among the many clever and colorful costumes were seen the St. Pat Cat in the Hat Linda Wuebker, flanked by Thing 1 Principal Kandice Roethler and Thing 2 Secretary Blanca Cortes.
While coloring and crafting in costume occupied the little ones, the adults chatted about the strengths of the parochial school. The 98-year-old St. Patrick Catholic School is one of 17 schools in the Des Moines Diocese. Pre-kindergarten through eighth grade enrollment is about 130 students.
