Concrete workers with Ames-based Caruth Construction Inc. kept their eyes on the skies Tuesday afternoon as they poured the foundation of the Perry High School Building Trades Program spec house under construction at 12th Street and Otley Avenue.

Progress has been steady since June at the work site, where PHS Industrial Technology Instructor Chad Morman teaches PHS juniors and seniors the methods of modern construction. The DMACC Perry VanKirk Career Academy is offering college credit for the classes and providing the construction tools for the program.
