Burning food on a stovetop brought a prompt public-safety response Sunday morning to a residence on Perry’s eastside.

The fire in an apartment house in the 2900 block of Warford Street was reported shortly after 11 a.m. There were no injuries.

Smoke triggered the apartment house’s smoke detectors, and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded and clear the residence of the thick smoke.

The Perry Police Department and Dallas County EMS also responded.
