Stove fire quickly controlled by Perry firefighters Friday

Exhaust fans were used to clear a residence of smoke after the Perry Volunteer Fire Department controlled a stove fire Friday about 7:45 p.m.

Firefighters quickly controlled the kitchen fire in the 100 block of 31st Street Friday night.

A stove fire was reported in a Perry residence about 7:45 p.m. Friday, with smoke filling the house and the occupants evacuated.

Officers of the Perry Police Department and firefighters with the Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 1100 block of 31st Street and promptly controlled the fire.

No injuries were reported.
