A Stuart woman was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Tuesday in connection with a weekend incident in which she allegedly assaulted a Stuart man during a custody fight.
Jessica Marie Evans, 29, of 615 N. Sherman St., Stuart, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.
The incident occurred about 7:15 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Dallas Street in Dexter, where Evans allegedly “punched” the victim “in the throat and scratched his arm, causing bleeding during a child custody issue,” according to court records.
Evans “fled the scene” before the arrival of a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff, according to court records, and a warrant for Evans’ arrest was ordered June 21 and served June 22.
Evans was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to posting a $300 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a hearing July 14 in Dallas County District Court.
