As colleges and universities begin their summer sessions, many local students are returning home to take summer jobs in the Perry area.[wpedon id=”82220″ align=”center”]
Haley Vaughn, for example, a 2017 Perry High School graduate who just finished her first year of post-secondary education at the University of Iowa, has picked up a couple of part-time jobs.
For starters, Vaughn is learning the ropes as a waiter in David’s Diner at the Hotel Pattee. David’s Diner Service Manager Tracy Carnahan of Perry started showing Vaughn the finer points of fine dining Wednesday during the breakfast shift.
Vaughn is also guarding lives part time at the Adel Aquatic Center, where she works as a lifeguard.
