Friends and well wishers will celebrate Don Strassburg’s 90th birthday with a party and open house in the great room of the Rowley Masonic Community Saturday, Sept. 28 from 1-4 p.m.
“We are attempting to make this a surprise for him,” said an organizer of the event. “He doesn’t get online or do social media but might actually catch on to us, but that’s okay.”
Strassburg owned and operated Don’s Shoes on Second Street in downtown Perry for many years, and he remains an active and popular figure around town.
