One suspect is sought Saturday night in connection with a brief scuffle in inside a convenience store on east Willis Avenue.

Officers of the Perry Police Department and Dallas County Sheriff’s office responded to the report of a fight in progress about 8:15 p.m. at the Blue Jay Market at 2810 Willis Ave.

Deepak Nayyar of West Des Moines, owner of the store, said a confrontation occurred between two men became physical.

“I don’t know what happened,” Nayyar said. Words were exchange, and then the suspect “punched the other guy, and he fell down on the ground,” he said.

Some merchandise was overturned in the affray, but no significant damage occurred.

“Luckily, no damage,” said Nayyar. “The sunglasses display fell down. Otherwise, all the high-end liquor was not damaged.”

The suspect fled the scene on foot, and law enforcement seeks his whereabouts at this hour.
