Suspects in a high-speed chase that began in Nebraska are believed to be on foot in the vicinity of Redfield at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, according to law enforcement radio traffic.

Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputies are in search of the suspects, described as black males.

It is believed two suspects were in the vehicle that sought to elude law enforcement at speeds exceeding 150 mph on U.S. Interstate 80.

The suspects refueled their vehicle at a Phillip’s 66 station in Stuart after the law enforcement vehicles in pursuit overheated and the pursuit was paused, according to radio traffic.

The suspect vehicle apparently struck spikes near the 99 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 and then exited the interstate and drove into Redfield. It is believed the suspects then fled on foot in Redfield, possibly northward on the Raccoon River Valley Trail.

A Des Moines Police Department K9 unit is reportedly on site and seeking the fugitives.
