Suspects sought in Jefferson hardware store robbery

JEFFERSON, Iowa — Jefferson Police Department Chief Mark Clouse has asked for the public’s assistance is locating suspects in a recent hardware store robbery.

An officer responded about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17 to a report of a theft at the Ace Hardware store 403 W. Head St.

An investigation, including store security video, led police to suspect that a white male and a white female, possibly in their 20s, entered the store Tuesday and stole about $300 in goods before exiting through the rear of the store.

The suspects are believed to have fled the scene in a green 2005 Chrysler 300 that was reported as stolen from Fort Dodge.

Clouse said that anyone with information about the crime should call the Jefferson Police Department at 515-386-2136.
