Fans from both schools have been asked to wear pink to the game. Perry cheerleaders will be passing through the crowd accepting donations for the fight against cancer. Proceeds from the bucket brigade and from t-shirt sales will be given to the The Children’s Cancer Connection of Iowa.

The Perry volleyball team did their part in the battle against the disease by hosting Ballard Tuesday in a “Dig For a Cure” match. As part of the event, Perry players dedicated their performances to a loved one battling cancer, with each player and their honoree announced before the game. Several Jayettes also presented pink roses to loved ones in attendance who have battled cancer.

The Bluejays will take on the Toreadors beginning at 4:45 p.m. with the freshmen game, with the varsity contest to follow at 7:30 p.m.
