Teen girl’s death Friday under investigation by Perry PD

Sixteen-year-old Sabrina Ray of Perry was found unresponsive about 6:30 p.m. Friday at 1708 First Ave. in Perry by officers of the Perry Police Department. Her death is under investigation.

The Perry Police Department is investigating the death of a 16-year-old girl who was found unresponsive about 6:30 p.m. Friday at 1708 First Ave. in Perry.

“Upon officers arrival, the female was found to be deceased,” according to a statement released Saturday afternoon by the Perry Police Department. “The cause of death is currently undetermined. An autopsy is scheduled for early next week.”

The police have not released the name of the victim.

The statement said the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa Department of Human Services are assisting in the investigation.

The Dallas County EMS and Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office also assisted.

The house at 1708 First Ave. is owned by Richard and Janet Gregory, according to county records. It houses the Rays of Sunshine Daycare.
