Pegasus TV 12 has generously made available for public review ThePerryNews candidates forum filmed Sept. 27 at the Perry Public Library.

The two-hour session is divided into three video portions. In the first portion, the six candidates vying for two seats on the Dallas County Board of Supervisors answer questions. The candidates were incumbent district one Supervisor Brad Golightly, a Republican of rural Perry, his Democrat opponent, Dawson Mayor Breanna Morman, incumbent district three Supervisor Kim Chapman, an Adel Republican, Democrat Pat Stalter of Adel, independent Robert Greenway of Van Meter and independent Michael Walrod of De Soto.

In the second video portion, Dallas County Treasurer Mitch Hambleton, a Dallas Center Republican, was joined by the Democrat challenger, Julie Stewart of Waukee. Dallas County Attorney Wayne Reisetter of Adel also answered questions. Reisetter’s Republican opposite, Charles Sinnard of Urbandale, was unfortunately unable to attend the forum.

In the third section of the video, Warren Varley of Stuart, Democrat candidate for the Iowa House District 20 seat, made a brief speech before fielding questions from the audience. Varley’s Republican opponent, Ray Bubba Sorensen of Greenfield, was unfortunately unable to attend the Perry forum, but the candidates have met at more recent events.
