Three more positive cases in Perry schools; 22 enter quarantine

Two students and one adult in the Perry Community School District tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, Wednesday Dec. 16, according to PCSD Superintendent Clark Wicks.

Two Perry High School students and one Perry Middle School student tested positive, Wicks said. All students and families in contact with the student and staff member have been notified, he said.

In addition, 22 students will be quarantined.

With 10 positive cases current in the district, Wicks said rate of .006 was “very low positivity!”

The SARS-CoV-2 virus has infected 26 students and six staff members since classes began Aug. 19 in the PCSD, according to communications from the PCSD. The list of cases follows.

The current population of students and staff in the Perry Community School District numbers about 1,801, including about 1,521 students receiving onsite instruction and about 159 receiving off-site instruction.
