Three visiting specialists to join DCH care team

Three visiting specialists will soon join the medical team at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, according to a hospital statement released Wednesday. The new audiologist, pediatric dental surgeon and urologist will begin holding clinics or performing surgeries at the Perry hospital in the coming months.

Dr. Ashley Bahr
Dr. Ashley Bahr

Dr. Ashley Bahr is an audiologist with Woodard Hearing. She received her doctorate degree in audiology from the University of Iowa and her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from Idaho State University.

Dr. Bahr completed her training in a variety of clinical settings, including university and hospital clinics, the Veterans Administration, ear-nose-throat and balance centers and private practices.

Dr. Bahr will hold clinics the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

Dr. Nicholas Barnard
Dr. Nicholas Barnard

Dr. Nicholas Barnard is a pediatric dentist with Westown Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Barnard is a Drake University graduate with a 2009 degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. He attended the University of Iowa Dental School, graduating in 2013, and finished his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in June 2015.

During his two-year residency, Dr. Barnard provided comprehensive care for children of all ages, including emergency care, conscious sedation and treatment in the operating room under general anesthesia.

Dr. Barnard will perform pediatric dental surgery in Perry monthly.

Dr. Mark Kellerman
Dr. Mark Kellerman

Dr. Mark Kellerman is an urologist with the Iowa Clinic. Dr. Kellerman received his medical degree from the University of Iowa School Of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Dr. Kellerman’s clinical interests include robotic surgery, laser treatment for enlarged prostate, vasectomy reversal, pediatric urology, incontinence, prostate, kidney and bladder cancers, kidney stones, female urinary incontinence and no-scalpel vasectomy.

Dr. Kellerman will hold clinics on the second Monday of each month beginning in June.
