Scattered thunderstorms are expected in the Perry area and throughout central Iowa for the remainder of Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to a hazardous weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Des Moines.
Isolated severe storms are possible, with quarter-size hail and 60 mph winds. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible, the NWS said.
Thunderstorm chances will persist intermittently throughout the week, with isolated severe storms and locally heavy rainfall possible through Thursday, July 4.
