The National Weather Service office in Des Moines has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the Perry area and portions of central Iowa for Friday afternoon and evening.
Strong to severe storms are possible Friday afternoon and evening, with the greatest potential generally east of U.S. Interstate 35.
The main threats include large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado.
Along with Dallas County, the hazardous weather outlook applies to Bremer, Hardin, Grundy Black Hawk, Crawford, Carroll, Greene, Boone, Story, Marshall, Tama, Audubon, Guthrie, Polk, Jasper, Poweshiek, Cass, Adair, Madison, Warren, Marion, Mahaska, Adams, Union, Clarke, Lucas, Monroe, Wapello, Taylor, Ringgold, Decatur, Wayne, Appanoose and Davis counties.
