A house fire reported shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday at 2412 Lucinda St. in Perry was quickly controlled by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department. There were no injuries in the blaze, and its cause is under investigation.

“We had a single-family structure, and it started in a front bedroom of the house,” said Perry Volunteer Fire Department First Assistant Chief Brian Eiteman. “It was contained to one room, but what it did was it burned all the contents up in that one room.”

Eiteman said the cause of the fire is “undetermined because I don’t have enough evidence to do anything with it. I still have to interview the owner.”

He said the Perry firefighters “were able to get it knocked down and put out within a matter of three or four minutes.”

The Perry Police Department and the Dallas County EMS also responded to the incident.
