Perry faced four foes Saturday at the AC/GC Tournament.

The Perry Bluejays will have 12 seniors on the squad this season — 12.

Head coach Dennis McDonnell said the Bluejay players have been busy raising funds to purchase “alternate uniforms.” Purchasing the alternate dress requires private funds, and so the Perry cagers have asked for your help.

Those wishing to help the Jays reach their goal of $2,000 — an amount needed before 11:59 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 — are asked to visit http://getbucketslive.com/#fundraising and click on the Perry Bluejay. As of 10:30 p.m. Thursday, the team has raised $1,280 — another $720 is all it would take.

The team will be playing in a 10-team event in Cedar Rapids Jan. 13 against Cedar Rapids Xavier, and it was hoped they could wear the new threads at the event.

Perry opens their season Nov. 28 with a boys-only set against visiting North Polk, with both Perry team hosting Carroll Dec. 1.
