ADEL — Eighth-grader Aliya Yanga allowed two hits and four walks in shutting out visiting Perry over five innings Wednesday as ADM cruised to an 11-0 win that ended via the mercy rule.

Yanga struck out nine in the win and aided her own efforts with a single, double and walk while scoring three times.

Abbie Hlas had a home run and a single for ADM (14-1, 6-0), with Brooke Hickey also belting a home run.

Perry (3-12, 0-6) received singles from Lydia Olejniczak and Jayna Kenney, with Peyton Tunink drawing two walks. Cassidy Heck and Jasmine Shriver also reached base on walks.

Tunink yielded 11 runs on 13 hits, with eight runs earned. She walked two in her four frames in the pitching circle.

Perry hosts Saydel tonight and will then play South Hamilton at 3:30 p.m. and BCLUW at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Gilbert and Roland-Story Saturday, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively, at the R-S Kiwanis Invitational. The Friday games will both be on the south diamond, with both Saturday games on the north diamond.
