A trailer lost its load of demolition debris Thursday afternoon when it struck a bridge on a Level B road north of Perry.

A trailer full of demolition debris got stuck on a bridge Thursday afternoon after littering its way north out of Perry.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The Perry Police Department responded about 1 p.m., when the trailer lost a sizeable amount of refuse when turning westward off Iowa Highway 144 and onto 335th Street in Boone County.

Along with losing a quantity of junk in turning, the trailer took out the street sign at D Avenue and 335th Street as well as the Level B road sign.

The trailer lost the remainder of its load when it hung up on a bridge about two miles west of D Avenue.

A quantity of apparently related refuse was visible at the Northgate Estates on First Avenue in north Perry, suggesting the trash trailer traveled from there.

The Iowa Department of Transportation and the Boone County Sheriff’s office also responded.
