Travis Olesen, a familiar figure in the Perry Fareway store, retired Friday after 33 years, five months and 19 days in service to the community.
A reception was held in his honor at the store, where he was joined by his wife, Karrie Olesen, for cake and cookies.
Along with receiving congratulations from Perry Fareway Manager Travis Landgrebe and the whole Perry crew, Olesen was warmly thanked by Fareway CEO Reynolds Cramer, Central Region Vice President B. J. Van Der Linden, Senior Vice President of Retail Operations Jeff Borrill, East Region Vice President Gary Worrall and Fareway Supervisor Kevin Paltz.
Olesen said he expects to keep busy in retirement by running his land management company as well as operating a nonprofit business.
