The pork chop dinner at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Perry offered friendly fellowship and a hearty dinner -- with ice cream.

All spring and summer, the Trinity Lutheran Church on Iowa Street in Perry has been hosting weekly ice cream socials and meals. With fall coming on, they are switching to monthly meals.

Last Sunday they hosted an Iowa Chop meal that also included cheesy potatoes, garlic bread and a drink. Diners could also purchase ice cream, which I did.

The main purpose of these dinners is to give people a chance to buy a good meal and enjoy fellowship. It also gets the members involved with doing something for the church.

As with any church, the Trinity Lutheran has maintenance needs, and the members also support a number of local, national and international missions.

They are looking to host a harvest dinner soon.
