Trojans take two from host Hawks

WOODWARD — Pleasantville recorded wins of 12-0 in three innings, and of 8-5, in WCAC softball against host Woodward-Granger Thursday.

Singles from Rian Jamison and Lauren Rodgers and a walk to Bella McDivitt accounted for the only W-G runners to reach base in the opener.

Jamison was assessed 13 runs (12 earned) on 13 hits and two walks in the loss.

W-G trailed, 6-0, in the nightcap, but rallied to score four run in the bottom of the fourth. A single Hawk tally in the sixth cut the gap to 6-5, but the Trojans scored twice in the top of the seventh to pull away and set the final score.

Rodgers and Ava Petersen had two singles apiece, with NataLeigh Herron hitting a double, a single and drawing a walk while Audrey Simmons hit a double. Chloe Houge, Allie Moore, and McDivitt also had base hits.

Moore walked once as well. She scored twice and drove in a run, with Simmons and Rodgers both recording RBIs. Petersen, Simmons, and Cela Hill also scored for the hosts.

Jamison allowed eight runs (four earned) on 12 hits and one walk in suffering the loss on the rubber.
