Two pickup trucks collided Friday morning on Iowa Highway 141 on Perry’s west side.

One driver is being examined at this hour by the Dallas County EMS but does not appear to have life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred about 5:45 a.m. just east of I Court on Iowa Highway 141.

One of the trucks was hauling a trailer, and the vehicle came to rest pointing westward in the south ditch of the state highway. The trailer lost its load, and the truck appeared to sustain rear passenger-side damage.

The other truck sustained extensive damage on its passenger side, with the crumpled door torn off and lying nearby and the truck’s front right quarter mangled. The vehicle came to rest pointing eastward on the south shoulder of the roadway.

The crash is under investigation at this hour by the Dallas County Sheriff’s office.

The Perry Police Department and Perry Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
