Twelve test positive in ADM schools; 13 quarantined

Ten students and two adults in the Adel-De Soto-Minburn Community School District tested positive since Jan. 13 for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, according to communications from ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe.

Six students and one staff member at the De Soto Intermediate School and two students and one staff member from the Adel Middle School tested positive. In addition, one student from the Adel Elementary School and one student from the ADM High School student tested positive in the last seven days.

Thirteen other persons were quarantined as close contacts of the infected students and staff members.

The ADM Community School District had about 1,900 students enrolled in 2019, with about 500 in the high school. The district’s ongoing virus-mitigation strategies can be reviewed on the ADM dashboard.
