Two people were arrested Thursday night after attempting to flee on foot from officers of the Perry Police Department and Dallas County Sheriff’s office.

The incident began about 10:15 p.m. in the 1700 block of Otley Avenue, where a male and female fled from a vehicle, according to law enforcement radio traffic.

The male was detained after a brief foot chase, while the female, accompanied by a white pit bull, escaped but was afterward located and detained.

A K9 unit with the sheriff’s office gave a positive indication for narcotics in the vehicle, and a probable-cause search was conducted.

The investigation is ongoing at this hour, and charges are pending.
