About two dozen local young people took part in Saturday’s annual Elks Hoops Shoot on the Dan Marburger Court at Perry High School.

Six groups are open to competition, one each for boys and girls ages 8-9 years old, 10-11 years old and 12-13 years old. Perry’s 2024 winners were:

Pierce Menke sank 19/25 in the boys 12-13 class

Edlyn Iben shot 18/25 in the girls 12-13 group

Drew Adair made 14/25 in the boys 10-11 category

Ella Hardy sank 9/25 in the girls 10-11 group

Will Adair shot 11/25 in the boys 8-9 group

Beda Iben hit 3/25 in the girls 8-9 class

The local winners will advance to the district contest in Jefferson in January.

Each of the youngsters received a complimentary basketball courtesy of the Perry Elks Lodge 407. Students from the Perry, ADM, Guthrie Center, Panorama and Woodward-Granger school districts were eligible.
