Two killed, one injured in Jasper County rollover Friday

Two young people died and one was seriously injured Friday morning in a one-vehicle rollover accident in Jasper County.

Two young people died and a third was seriously injured when the vehicle they were in left a county blacktop in Jasper County about 7 a.m. Friday and rolled several times.

Dallis Harrison, 23, of Newton and Isaiah Eliander, 16, of Garwin died of injuries they received when they were ejected from the 2010 Chevrolet Impala, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.

Kylie Eliander, 15, of Garwin was seriously injured in the mishap and transported by Colfax EMS to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

According to the crash report, for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway of County Road F48 and S. 28th Avenue W. about one mile east of Colfax.

None of the victims was wearing seat belts, according to the report.

Harrison and Isaiah Eliander were transported to the office of the Iowa State Medical Examiner in Ankeny.

The incident is under investigation.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s office and Colfax Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
