Two PHS students test positive Thursday; nine enter quarantine

Two Perry High School students tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, Thursday, Dec. 17, according to PCSD Superintendent Clark Wicks.

In addition, nine students will be quarantined, Wicks said.

All students and families in contact with the students have been notified, he said, and all other students can attend classes as normal.

With 12 positive cases current in the district, Wicks said rate of .008 was “very low positivity!”

The SARS-CoV-2 virus has infected 28 students and six staff members since classes began Aug. 19 in the PCSD, according to communications from the PCSD. The list of cases follows.

The current population of students and staff in the Perry Community School District numbers about 1,801, including about 1,521 students receiving onsite instruction and about 159 receiving off-site instruction.
