U.S. Highway 169 (Nile Kinnick Drive S.) is Adel was closed about 8 p.m. Monday after the concrete roadway buckled between Greenwood Hills Drive and Timberview Drive, upheaving the roadway about 12 inches and posing a risk to unwary motorists.
The upthrust occurred south of the ADM High School.
A public servant estimated the emergency repairs to the roadway will be completed by 12-1 a.m. Tuesday.
