Doris Eldridge of Perry occupied the anteroom of the First United Methodist Church Fireside Room Saturday, with earrings of many kinds laid out tidily on a table. "They were all jumbled up in a box," Eldridge said, "and I thought they might sell better if I set them out nicely."

A goodly crowd attended Saturday’s First United Methodist Church annual holiday season bake sale and Christmas decoration sale in the Fireside Room of the church.

Anyone still needing to deck their halls could find not only boughs of holly but lights, figurines, tinsel and baubles galore on the tables ringing the room.

The centerpiece and hub of the room were the tables laden with Christmas candies, cookies, bars, brittles and a universe of similarly sweet treats.

Visitors found Doris Eldridge of Perry in the anteroom, with earrings of many kinds laid out tidily on a table. Nancy Gardiner and Iris Coffin made change for the buyers, and Marilyn Pentico, Shirley Ehlers and a number of other bakers presided in the kitchen.
