A Davenport man was arrested Monday evening after allegedly attempting to elude law enforcement in a high-speed chase exceeding 100 mph.

Ryan Charles Greving, 34, of 2351 Farnam St., Davenport, was charged with second-offense OWI, eluding, carrying weapons, assault on a peace office, open container and speeding.

The high-speed chase began on westbound Iowa Highway 141 at T Avenue near Woodward shortly before 7 p.m. Monday and ended in the 2900 block of Iowa Highway 141 in Perry after an officer with the Perry Police Department deployed a spike strip on the state highway at Willis Avenue, which deflated Greving’s tires.

There were no injuries in the incident.

Greving was transported to the Dallas County Jail, where he became uncooperative and allegedly assaulted a peace officer.

The Woodward Police Department also responded.

Greving was convicted of carrying weapons and OWI in 2012 in Scott County District Court. He was convicted of OWI in 2006 in Scott County District Court.
