UPDATE: House saved, garage destroyed in 150th Street fire

Firefighters with the Perry Volunteer Fire Department saved the house at 19217 150th St. after fire destroyed the home’s attached garage Sunday.

There were no known injuries in the blaze, which apparently started shortly before 10 a.m. while the homeowners were away.

The two-story, 3,100-square-foot house, which lies south of the city limits of Perry, is owned by Jim and Sandy Eaton of Perry, according to county records.

Firefighters returned to the station about 2 p.m. after spending about four hours controlling and extinguishing the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders, Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also responded.
