An Oklahoma man has been arrested on a charge of harboring a runaway in connection with the incident Sunday afternoon that caused the Grimes Walmart to be locked down.

Jared Michael Wright, 21, of Lawton, Oklahoma, was charged with harboring Monica Leeann O’Bryan, 15, who was last seen Feb. 25 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi.

The Polk County Sheriff’s office was informed of O’Bryan’s whereabouts by Mississippi law enforcement about before 4 p.m. Sunday, and the department responded shortly afterward with the Walmart lockdown.

O’Bryan was later found in the Johnston High School parking lot about 5:30 p.m. She was unharmed.

According to court records, Wright participated in the “aiding, supporting and sheltering” of O’Bryan “with the intent to allow the runaway child to remain away from home against the wishes of the child’s parent, guardian or custodian.”

Wright is held in the Polk County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for arraignment April 13 in Polk County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
