Adrian Douglas Harvey, 22, of Perry was arrested Wednesday night after leading local law enforcement on a 5-mile high-speed pursuit in west-central Dallas County.

Harvey faces an aggravated misdemeanor charge of eluding and a charge of speeding in the incident began about 8:40 p.m. when a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff reported he was in pursuit of Harvey’s vehicle southbound on H Avenue from Iowa Highway 44 at speeds exceeding 90 mph. H Avenue is an unpaved road.

From H Avenue the vehicle proceeded eastward on 260th Street, southward on Indian Avenue and eastward for a short distance on 270th Street before pulling into a driveway at 18775 270th St., where Harvey and a female passenger were detained at gunpoint and taken into custody at 8:49 p.m. without further incident.

The residence on 270th Street is owned by Steven and Joyce Venard of rural Adel, according to county records.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office was not immediately available to discuss details of the incident.

Harvey was booked into the Dallas County Jail and is being held on $2,333 bond.
