A Perry man was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle after flipping his 1998 Ford Ranger shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141 near M Avenue.

Emergency personnel responded Wednesday to the 4 a.m. rollover accident on Iowa Highway 141 east of Perry.

A Perry man was issued a citation for failure to maintain control after his pickup truck overturned shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141 near M Avenue.

Darin Lingner, 39, of Perry was traveling southward on M Avenue and lost control of his 1998 Ford Ranger while trying to turn westbound on Iowa Highway 141, according to Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Nathan Ludwig.

The vehicle “caught the lip from the gravel to the pavement sideways, causing the vehicle to flip onto its top” and come to rest upside down in the roadway, Ludwig said.

Lingner was transported to the Dallas County Hospital with minor injuries. A spokesperson from the Dallas County Sheriff’s office said Lingner’s blood alcohol content was determined to be within the legal limit.

Responding to the incident were the Iowa State Patrol, Perry Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Perry Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas County EMS.
