The Perry man arrested Tuesday on a charge of third-degree sexual abuse allegedly violated a minor female, the Perry Police Department said in a statement released Wednesday morning.
Damon Lee Dillinger, 18, of Perry was arrested by officers of the Perry Police Department on a warrant in connection with an incident that occurred April 16, according to Perry Police Department Chief Eric Vaughn.
Dillinger allegedly “committed a sex act upon a 15-year-old female against her will in late March or early April,” Vaughn said. Court records indicate the alleged crime occurred March 25.
Dillinger is is being held in the Dallas County Jail. Dallas County Magistrate Andrea Flanagan set a $10,000 cash or surety bond for Dillinger Wednesday morning in Dallas County Magistrate Court.
Third-degree sexual abuse is a class C felony punishable by a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a fine between $1,000 and $10,000.
Dillinger is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 1.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
