The National Weather Service offices in Des Moines has issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday for northwestern Dallas, southeastern Greene and northeastern Guthrie counties.
At 7:40 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located eight miles north of Lake Panorama or 11 miles south of Jefferson, moving eastward at 25 mph.
Conditions of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail are possible. Hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding and trees is expected.
Locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm warning include Perry, Panora, Lake Panorama, Bagley, Yale, Jamaica, Linden, Dawson, the Perry Municipal Airport, Springbrook State Park and Lakin Slough Game Management Area.
